"Mommy an ant is on me!"

Riley sometimes says funny things and this is one of them. If he feels itchy anywhere he starts to whimper and says, "Mommy mommy there is an ant on me". As soon as I scratch the itchy spot he is much better.

Keeping Cool

We have been doing some fun things recently to stay as cool as we can in the heat. We have gone swimming twice to the Juan de Fuca Pool. It is a really fun pool! It has a waterslide that you are allowed to go down on inner tubes. . . very fast fun! Tyler also really enjoys the diving board. Riley is a little unsure about pools. We have been trying to keep his ears dry because of the tubes that he has in them and that has produced quite a bit of caution from him too. Juan de Fuca has a smaller slide though that Riley loved and as a result he warmed up to the whole pool idea! We also have gone to the "Frog Pond" splash park which Ty LOVES and Riley enjoys cautiously.

Vacation Week

Yesturday marked the end of "vacation week" for the boys and Cory and I. The boys were at my parents' place for 9 days. They went to White Rock, the zoo, parks. . . almost everytime I called to talk to them they were out! Thanks Mom and Dad for blessing our family with that break both for the boys and us! Cory had school still but we were able to do many "adult only" things like playing at our friends' homes late into the night, going to the movies (we saw "Pirates"), out for dinner, to the Arbutus Park beach in Youbou (playing on the logs in the middle of the lake with James and Hil and the Kremlers. . . and sleep-in (all the way to 7:30am!!!!). Isaak Family Camping

Two weekends ago we had the privilege of camping with my whole side of the family at Porteau Cove. We had lots of fun. . . .. . . Uncle Jerry took everyone rock climbing in Squamish. . .

. . . potty time in our makeshift bathroom. . .
. . . sibbling settlers . . . .. . . eating and cleaning together. . .
. . . and simply being together!

Long Time No Blog

Sorry, its been a while since I have spent time in front of the computer. I'll try now to update our last couple of weeks.

A Busy Week

Sorry for the absense of blogs this week. We have been having lots of fun with Tiff and Matt. One of the fun things that we did was go to Beacon Hill Park on Saturday. We went to the "zoo" (the mama pig had 7 babies a week ago. . .so cute!). We also went to the playground and the little spray park was working! Tyler was in his glory!

Riley was not so much for the water but he thoroughly enjoyed feeding the crows.

Good-bye MoMo and Yellow

Today we had to say "good-bye" to our budgies MoMo and Yellow. We are moving to Winnipeg in September (until December) and cannot bring them along. Tyler cried quite a bit. He told Papa on the phone, "Papa somebody came and took our birdies. She said she would take care of them but I want to take care of them!" (I almost cried too).
