Friends

A few of Sawyer's first visitors. . . he will enjoy getting to know all these boys!!!

Three Brothers

"I think he loves me Mom" -Tyler

"He's soooooo cute!" -Riley

Can This Last??

Here are some pictures of our new family member. . . .

Cory and the BIG brothers came to pick me up from the hospital yesterday at about 11am. We had a great day. Cory went to class, the boys (all 3) and I napped, played baseball outside and then tidied the house for small group and our friends came over (minus Ryan and Cindy. . .we missed you guys, hope you feel better soon!!), how much of a better day could you ask for?? Then, to top it all off I woke up ONCE to feed Sawyer!!!!!! I know it won't be like this everyday but am so thankful to God for a smooth day of transition.

Tyler and Riley absolutely love Sawyer. They both take turns holding him and just like to look at him and gently touch him. They have asked several times when he will open his eyes and although he does open them periodically if he is in true Bargen form we will only really start to see his eyes in a couple of months.

I am feeling great. . . no pain at all!!! (THANKS to God for this amazing blessing, I know that it is not like this for very many women)

Thanks to everyone who has had us in their thoughts and prayers.

He's Here!!!

Sawyer Jackman Bargen arrived yesterday January 29, 2007 at 9:15am! He weighed 8lbs 11 oz, and is 53 cm long.

He was quite confused as to the best way to get out and was posterior for most of the labor and then fixed himself and then went backwards again. . . needless to say it was a long labor. Once he really figured it out I pushed once and he came out.

I'll blog more later but just wanted to let you know that he's here, we're home and we're doing well.

Prayer Request

If you could all pray for our family when you think of us that'd be great. Cory has been sick with a flu since Wednesday and although he is feeling much better today, Riley seems to have caught it. He has a fever and is quite grumpy. I am trying to continually disinfect our house and wash hands but prayer is more powerful than any of that. I really don't want to get sick and it would be great if we could all be healthy when baby #3 arrives. Thanks!!!

"She said she loves me, Mom"

We were out last night and Riley had his first encounter with a girl that "loves him". She was a cute little girl about two months older than Riley and after meeting him she promptly hugged him and proclaimed, "I love you". Riley responded by hugging back and with a shy, "I love you too". After they were done hugging he ran over to me with stars in his eyes and said, "Mom, she LOVES me". He continued to talk about the girl that loves him for the rest of the evening, it was very cute.

Patience

It seems that God is working on teaching me patience. In my opinion, He's done, I'm good now God, no more lessons please!

Today is baby #3's due date and he seems quite content to hang out inside of me. I can't wait to meet him and hold him and smell him and get to know who he is but I do know that he is much quieter inside of me. The boys have been telling him everyday that they want to see him and hold him. Riley frequently asks me when he gets to be a big brother. Both Tyler and Riley were born early by about a week so I already feel overdue. . . . I mean I'm very patiently waiting.

(I had a dream last night that he was born weighing 10 lbs 10oz. Uggg, that is a wee bit big!)

Whose Child Is This?

Something odd has happened to my four-year old. Over the past month he has begun to make his bed almost everytime he gets out of it. I'm not sure where he learnt this habit. . . he has also taken it upon himself to remind me almost daily that I need to make MY bed. Who is guilty of teaching him this?????

Potty Training Made Fun

Riley is more and more consistantly using the toilet!!! He seems to be motivated by the fact that if he wants to go to preschool like Tyler he needs to always use the "potty" and not wear diapers. Yesterday he decided that he should probably ditch the potty seat too, afterall, Tyler came home from preschool and told him that there are no potty seats at preschool. Whatever it takes! We'd love to have only one in diapers at a time.

New Wheels!

The boys got a bike and a scooter for Christmas, they LOVE riding them. Here are pictures that we took on one of the first trips to the park with the new wheels.

4

It is a little hard to believe that I have a four year old, crazy! We had a little birthday party for him while we were at my parents' place for Christmas. Jerry and Katie brought a pinata with them and Tyler really attacked it. It was very amusing!

Merry Christmas And Happy New Year!

Okay I admidt this is a little late but here it is anyways. I decided that with having to move, clean and resettle in our own home, have a baby and then send out baby announcements we would forgo the ritual Christmas card. We didn't get any great family pictures anyways. Blessings to you all this New Year!

Are We Gonna Go to the Y Gym?

Riley has been asking to go to the Y gym recently (it is in Winnipeg). When I ask him what he wants to do there he says "hockey". They loved all the free hockey there. . . . it seems like boys are born with innate skill and desire for these sorts of things.

7 lbs 12 oz !!!!

I had another ultrasound yesturday and everything looks great. I will find out more details from the midwife on Tuesday but from what the ultrasound tech said our little guy is healthy and happy. He, however, looks to be weighing 7 lbs 12 oz already and they tend to gain about an oz a day from here on in so . . . . so much for a small baby! It's funny, when we first found out that he has a two-vessel embilical cord instead of three I did some research and found a few things consistant in almost all of the studies. . . babies with a two-vessel cord or more likely 1) to be girls than boys (ours is clearly a boy), 2) to be smaller than average in size (ours is NOT), and 3) to be born early. . . here's to hoping, I feel very ready to meet this little guy and hold him in my arms!

I think that I have a little bit of a nesting bug. . .yesturday I made 5 meals for the freezer and everytime I turn around I just want to clean something else. Mr.Clean Magic erasers can perform so much magic!!!! Anyways I should sleep while my boys are sleeping. . . .
